MONTPEZAT-DE-QUERCY Steeped in history and confident of its future Montpezat-de-Quercy Population: 1404 Area : 17 square miles (4 402 ha) Highest point: 3 976 ft (303 m) Is in the N.W. of the Tarn-et-Garonne close to the department of the Lot, on the south-western foothills of the Massif Central, in what is known as the Quercy blanc. The Arcades of the Place de l’horloge (Place de la Résistance), the covered entrance to the Town Hall and several imposing stone houses, many recently restored and adding a greatly to the charm of our City, all bear witness to the fact that, at the end of the Middle Ages, Montpezat was a flourishing market town. The exceptional historic and architectural heritage, rooted in a rich past, and an economic activity propelling it towards the future are the two essential pillars which support our town.
